The Best Way to Sell Sneakers in the Inland Empire
Share
Most people selling sneakers in Southern California default to StockX or GOAT. Both platforms work — but they also take up to 10% in seller fees, hold your money for days, and give you zero control over the process. If you've got heat sitting in your closet and you want to get paid fairly and fast, there's a better option right here in the IE.
Holy Ground is a sneaker shop in Upland, CA that buys, sells, and trades. We buy individual pairs and full collections, and we pay on the spot. No waiting for a buyer to be matched. No shipping it off and hoping it passes authentication. No fees deducted after the fact.
Why Selling Locally Beats the Platforms
The resale platforms are built for volume and convenience, not for getting you the best price. Here's what actually happens when you sell through StockX or GOAT:
You list the shoe, wait for a match, ship it out (on your dime), and then wait again while it goes through authentication. If it passes, you get paid — minus the platform's seller fee, minus payment processing, minus whatever promotional discount they've applied to your listing. By the time the money hits your account, you've taken a meaningful haircut off the price you thought you were getting.
Then there's eBay. Lower fees, but you're managing the listing, photographing the shoe, dealing with buyer questions, and taking on the return risk yourself. It works, but it's a part-time job if you're moving more than a few pairs.
Selling to Holy Ground is simpler. Bring the shoes in, get an offer based on current market value, and walk out with cash. If you'd rather have store credit toward something else in the shop, we can do that too — and we'll typically give you a better rate on the trade.
What We Buy
We buy a wide range of sneakers — Jordans, Nike SB Dunks, Yeezys, limited collabs, general Nike and Adidas heat, and more. The condition matters, but it doesn't have to be deadstock. We buy pre-owned pairs regularly, and we grade them honestly so the next buyer knows exactly what they're getting.
Here's what helps when you bring shoes in:
- Original box — Adds value. Not required, but it matters for certain pairs.
- Clean, honest condition — Don't try to clean up obvious issues before coming in. We'll assess them fairly either way.
- Accessories — Lace bags, hang tags, extra laces. Anything that came with the shoe.
We don't buy replicas, and we can identify them. If you're unsure about a pair's authenticity before bringing it in, just ask — we'd rather have that conversation upfront.
Selling a Collection
If you've got multiple pairs you're looking to move — whether you're downsizing, clearing out old inventory, or just done with the hobby — we handle collection buys too. Bring everything in and we'll evaluate the lot. For larger collections, reach out ahead of time so we can set aside enough time to go through everything properly.
We've bought from casual sneakerheads with five pairs and from serious collectors with 50+. Every situation is different and we'll give you a fair number either way.
The Trade Option
This one's underused. If you've got pairs you're not wearing but you've been eyeing something on our floor, a trade often makes more sense than a straight sale. You get more value on your trade-in than a straight cash offer, and you walk out with something you actually want to wear. It's a good deal on both sides.
Come In or Reach Out First
Our Upland shop is at 310 N Mountain Ave, Upland, CA. If you've got a larger collection or you want to know what your pair is worth before making the trip, reach out through the website first. We'll give you a general sense of market value and let you know if it's something we're actively looking for.
Selling sneakers in the Inland Empire shouldn't be a process. It should be a conversation.
